About the Role:
LTF Recruitment is delighted to be working with a welcoming primary school in Haringey, N11, to recruit a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant. This role focuses on supporting a Year 5 student with special educational needs, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo, playing a vital role in ensuring the child receives tailored support and encouragement within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum and stay engaged in their learning.
- Assist in the implementation of the child’s Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).
- Support the development of social, emotional, and behavioural skills through positive interactions.
- Create and adapt resources to meet the pupil’s individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to monitor and report on progress.
- Foster a calm and supportive learning environment to encourage the child’s independence and confidence.
Requirements:
- Experience working with primary-aged children, particularly those with SEN.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA or equivalent) are advantageous.
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and well-being.
