About the Role:
LTF Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant with a strong background in phonics to join our Ofsted-rated “Outstanding” partner primary school in Westminster. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and is skilled in delivering targeted phonics interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to KS1 students with ASD, helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
- Lead small-group and one-to-one phonics interventions, ensuring that each child receives the necessary support to develop their reading and phonics skills.
- Collaborate with class teachers, SENCO, and other support staff to create and implement educational health and care plans.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and progress.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with ASD in a primary school setting.
- Strong knowledge and experience in teaching phonics, ideally with training in a specific phonics program.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
