SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support – Secondary School – Barnet, London
Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have experience working in a special provision setting or providing 1:1 support for students in a secondary school? LTF Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic secondary school in Barnet, London.
This long-term role involves working closely with students who require 1:1 SEN support, helping them to overcome learning challenges and ensuring they thrive in their special provision setting. You will be working with students in Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), providing the tailored support they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Assist in delivering tailored learning plans to students within the school’s special provision
- Support the emotional, social, and academic development of students with SEN
- Work closely with class teachers, the SENCo, and other support staff to ensure students’ individual needs are met
- Monitor and track student progress, ensuring they stay on target to achieve their goals
- Encourage and promote independence in students with SEN, helping them build confidence in their abilities
Essential Criteria:
- Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Experience providing 1:1 support, ideally within a special provision or school setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting young people
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Desirable Criteria:
- Knowledge of specific SEN strategies or qualifications in working with students with SEN
- Experience in a secondary school or similar environment
Additional Information:
- Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Paid £95 – £105 per day, term time only
- Based in Barnet, London – excellent transport links
