SEN Teaching Assistant | Hammersmith, W6 | £95-£105 | Long-Term to Perm | ASAP Start | Full Time
LTF Recruitment are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for two pupils at an inclusive 2-form entry primary school in Hammersmith. You will work with a child in Year 1 with ADHD and emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and a child in Year 6 with dyslexia and additional SEN needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 1 child with ADHD and EBD, implementing behaviour management strategies to help the child engage positively in class.
- Support a Year 6 child with dyslexia and SEN, delivering tailored interventions to enhance learning and boost confidence.
- Adapt individual education plans (IEPs) for each child, ensuring their specific academic, social, and emotional needs are met.
- Collaborate closely with class teachers and the SENCO to assess and monitor progress, adjusting strategies to best support the children’s development.
- Build positive, supportive relationships with both pupils, encouraging independence, focus, and resilience in their learning.
- Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment where both children feel supported and valued.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience supporting children with ADHD, EBD, dyslexia, and other SEN, ideally in a primary school setting.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to manage challenging behaviors with a calm and supportive approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ, or equivalent) are desirable.
