SEN Teaching Assistant – Haringey, London

LTF Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-regarded educational institution in Haringey, London, with an immediate start.

In this role, you will be working within a dynamic and diverse learning environment that prides itself on inclusivity and student well-being. You’ll have the opportunity to provide focused support to students in Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), ensuring they are fully engaged and progressing in their learning. The school has a strong track record of supporting students with SEN and offers excellent facilities to aid in both academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN, tailoring assistance to their individual needs
  • Assist teaching staff in delivering personalised learning plans to ensure all students can access the curriculum
  • Help students develop academic skills while also supporting their social and emotional well-being
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to SENCo and teachers to help adjust support plans
  • Work collaboratively with a skilled team of staff who are committed to making a positive impact in students’ lives
  • Promote independence and self-confidence in students, helping them to thrive in a supportive, inclusive environment

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • A background in 1:1 or small group teaching assistance, ideally within a similar environment
  • Strong communication and empathy, with a genuine desire to see students succeed
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support professionals
  • A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to working with students who have varying needs

Desirable Criteria:

  • Training or qualifications related to SEN or child development
  • Experience in an educational setting supporting secondary-aged students

Additional Information:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Paid £95 – £105 per day, term time only
  • Based in Haringey, London – easily accessible via public transport links
  • Immediate start with potential for a long-term placement
