Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a school in EYFS team with a specialization in supporting an autistic child. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping this student thrive academically and socially. If you are passionate about making a positive impact on a child’s education and have experience working with children with autism, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to the autistic student, adapting teaching strategies to meet their specific needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel safe and valued.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of the autistic child, reporting findings to the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) and parents as required.
  • Collaborate with the SENCo, teachers, and other staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Support the student’s social and emotional development, helping them build positive relationships with peers.
  • Ensure a safe and orderly classroom environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with autistic children is essential.
  • A relevant teaching assistant qualification is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to the welfare and progress of the student.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
