Job Title: SEN Learning Mentor

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs to achieve their potential? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Learning Mentor to work closely with students in a supportive school in Newham. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on creating positive outcomes for children facing additional challenges in their learning.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN), particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, or behavioral challenges.
- A strong understanding of strategies to support children with SEN both academically and emotionally.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to work effectively with pupils, staff, and families.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach to managing challenging behavior.
- A commitment to inclusive education and helping all students succeed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN to help them engage with learning.
- Developing and implementing strategies to support children with emotional, social, and behavioral needs.
- Assisting teachers in creating inclusive classroom environments tailored to individual needs.
- Monitoring pupil progress and adapting support plans to ensure ongoing development.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils to foster confidence and resilience.
- Working collaboratively with SENCOs, teachers, and external agencies to deliver tailored support.
