Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – SEN Provision

Are you an experienced HLTA with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join an SEN provision within a mainstream school in Hackney. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing tailored support to children with additional needs.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • HLTA status or equivalent qualifications and experience.
  • Previous experience working within an SEN setting, ideally in a mainstream school environment.
  • A good understanding of strategies to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), speech and language difficulties, and other additional needs.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with staff, parents, and external agencies effectively.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach with a genuine passion for helping children succeed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading small group interventions and providing one-to-one support for pupils within the SEN provision.
  • Supporting classroom teachers to deliver differentiated learning activities.
  • Developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tracking pupil progress.
  • Assisting with behavior management and promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborating with the SENCO, teachers, and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
