Higher-Level Teaching Assistant | Harrow, HA3 | Full Time | £100-£130 | September Start
LTF Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant or qualified HLTA to join the support team at a welcoming and inclusive partner school in Harrow, HA3. In this HLTA role, you will support the teaching staff by leading agreed learning activities and covering classes during planning, preparation, and assessment (PPA) time. You’ll also work closely with pupils to monitor progress, assess development, and contribute to planning and delivering engaging learning activities for individuals and small groups.
Main Duties:
- Provide 1:1 support and lead group activities for children across both KS1 and KS2.
- Engage with SEN pupils, fostering interaction and participation in learning.
- Assist children with reading, writing, and other academic tasks.
- Support the class teacher with lesson delivery and take the lead during PPA time.
- Plan and deliver learning activities for small groups or full classes as required.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of one year’s experience working in a school setting.
- HLTA qualification is preferred but not essential.
- Strong understanding of SEN and how to support children with additional needs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with both staff and pupils.
- Confident in leading whole class sessions and managing group learning activities.
