Cover Supervisor – Secondary School – Immediate Start – Hackney, London

This long-term role offers the chance to gain valuable classroom experience, ideal for graduates considering a career in teaching or for individuals already experienced in working with young people. As a Cover Supervisor, you will ensure the smooth running of classes in the absence of regular teachers, managing behaviour and delivering pre-set lessons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons to students in Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) across various subjects
- Ensure classroom behaviour is managed effectively, maintaining a positive learning environment
- Support students with any questions or concerns they may have during the lesson
- Monitor student progress and ensure they stay focused on the assigned tasks
- Provide feedback to the regular class teacher on lesson outcomes
- Support the school with additional duties, including break and lunchtime supervision
Essential Criteria:
- Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a secondary school setting
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive and flexible attitude with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar educational role
- A degree or relevant qualifications
- A desire to pursue a career in teaching or education
Additional Information:
- Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Paid £125 – £140 per day, term time only
- Based in Hackney, London – excellent transport links
- Immediate start with potential for long-term placement
