The Role:
LTF Recruitment is looking for a caring and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at a vibrant primary school in Kingston Upon Thames (KT5), near Surbiton. The role involves working closely with the student to help them engage with their learning, develop key social skills, and prepare for their transition to secondary school.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on a student’s education and personal growth within a supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 6 student with ASD, helping them access the curriculum and stay engaged in lessons
  • Implement strategies to support the student’s emotional and social development, promoting independence and confidence
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver personalised learning plans
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages progress and well-being
  • Monitor and record the student’s progress, adapting support as needed and contributing to review meetings
  • Assist in preparing the student for their transition to secondary school

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children with ASD or other SEN in a school setting

  • Knowledge of strategies and interventions for supporting children with ASD
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of young people

Additional Information:

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday
  • Paid £95 – £110 per day, term time only
  • Based in Kingston Upon Thames (KT5), near Surbiton, with excellent transport connections
